Hyderabad's Best Cupcakes

The art of making cupcakes is well, an art. It's tricky. You have to get your consistency right, the frosting has to be perfect and overall, the cake itself has to be moist. Sadly this list is going to be small. It's not that I haven't eaten cupcakes from a variety of places, but it's that all the cupcakes I've eaten were either hard, salty, too sweet or so big that the taste of the frosting was lost. One bakery even tried to trick me into believing that his muffins were cupcakes! I've tried to make this list as critical as possible and I'm open to suggestions.

If what you want is custom made cupcakes, regardless of how eccentric your idea may be, this is where you should go. Expensive, yes, but at least you're getting what you want. As for flavours, it's the usual vanilla, chocolate and red velvet.  

Labonel
Banjara Hills or Hitec City

They have mini-cupcakes here and are absolutely sinful. Moist and creamy, they melt in your mouth. Choose from vanilla, chocolate and red velvet. It's of no surprise that they're popular across the country! Pick up your box of fifteen today for Rs. 650! Trust me, it seems overpriced, because it is, but it's totally worth your money.

Lane opposite Steve Madden, Jubilee Hills

While I'm not the biggest fan of their cupcakes (I prefer their macaroons), I know they have a huge set of loyal customers already. I found their cupcakes to be slightly on the harder side and they were stingy with their frosting. Yet, the fact that they sell so quick must mean something!

Not my favorite place for cupcakes but they do take custom orders and more friendly on the pocket. Ask for Angry Birds, animals, vegetables, cartoon character themed cupcakes and you're sure to get what you want! You can also check out their catalog for more ideas.
