On the occasion of National Pasta Day, I thought I would create a list of restaurants serving the best pasta in Hyderabad. In this entry, I give you six restaurants that undoubtedly have the best pasta in town. While they are not in order of preference, I leave you to make your own choice. Pack your bags, pick up your wallet and head out for some beautifully made pasta. Remember to know your pasta before going out...
Road no 92, Film Nagar, Hyderabad
Rs. 345-450
Rs. 345-450
It's vegetarian, I know. But the pastas here are fresh, steaming and come with just the right amount of sauce. If you don't want to ever wrong with your pasta, this is the place for you.
Mocha Express
Inorbit Mall Food Court, Hitec City.
Rs. 100 for veg and 125 for non-veg
It's small and it's take-away. The counter may not impress you and you probably disliked everything else you ate here, but the pastas are hot, full of sauce and made spicy to suit the Indian taste buds. If it's cheap pasta that you're looking for, this is the place for you. Arabiatta and Pesto are worth your time and money.
Peperoncino
Rs 325 for veg and 355 for non-veg
If you've ever wanted a custom made pasta without actually slogging in the kitchen, Peperoncino is where you should be tonight. Make your pasta, choose from six sauces and add your meats - go crazy! Not only is well cooked, but it's light on the pocket too.
Olive Bistro
Road no. 46, Durgam Cheruvu, Jubilee Hills
Rs. 500-600
Once again, the pastas are fresh and come in various types. The sauce was rich and the meat tender. The view adds to and enriches the whole experience. If you're willing to splurge or have to take someone out on a date, here's the place for you.
111, Defense Colony, Sainikpuri
Rs. 79-134
You won't find the most authentic pasta here but their concoction is yummy. It's simply and the sauce is cheesy. It's hot and the chunks of meat or zucchini in the pasta blend well. The choice is limited but it's inexpensive and sooo worth it's price.
Seasonal Tastes - The Westin
Midspace IT Park, The Westin, Hitec City
Rs. 400-600
Agreed it's expensive but at least they get their pasta right. It comes firm, dripping in the sauce of your choice and melts in your mouth. Al dente! I would go here if I'm fancying some fancy pasta.
Until my next post is up, bon appetit and happy National Pasta Day!
